(Un)Fortunately, I’m one of those people who feels compelled to start up a new project or hobby every few weeks. It’s been just over two months since I started writing The Rally Towel newsletter, which means I’m well overdue for a new project or hobby.
Introducing…Mets Laundry.
What is Mets Laundry? Good question! I’m not really sure yet, but the name and idea for the logo (brought to life by the incredibly talented @AthleteLogos) wouldn’t leave my brain, so here we are.
I don’t know why, but I like to keep my creative projects compartmentalized. I wanted a space separate from, but still connected to, The Rally Towel to talk about Mets jerseys, hats, and fan gear. The name Mets Laundry was inspired by the Jerry Seinfeld bit about how sports fandom essentially boils down to rooting for clothes (video below for those unfamiliar).
If you’re wondering why the Binghamton Rumble Ponies suiting up as the Binghamton Bathtub Donkeys this season? Or which Seinfeld reference will be featured on the Brooklyn Cyclones’ jerseys for the annual Seinfeld night? Then this is the spot for you.
Thanks for reading and I’ll See you on Laundry Day!
