Today is Super Bowl Sunday, but more importantly, its Laundry Day, and once this final load has been washed, sorted, folded, and put away…I’m Going to Disney World!
At the end of January, the Mets gave fans a look at their new blue road alternate jersey. This week we got the official word that the Mets primary road uniforms will be getting an update as well.
I know I’m not alone in thinking the Mets’ road gray uniforms are the best road jerseys in baseball, but I’m also not opposed to a refresh. These uniforms add in the racing stripe around the neck and sleeve collars and remove the blue piping around the collar and button placket. The matching pants also have the blue-orange-blue stripe as well.
These kits aren’t all that close to the ones I’m about to reference, but they’re both gray and they both have stripes so….
The club announced that there would be no changes to the Mets primary home uniforms (pinstripes), the alternate home uniforms (black), or City Connect uniforms. Unfortunately, the alternate home uniforms (blue tops) are being retired (RIP).
The official rotation of uniforms for 2025 is set:
Primary Home: Pinstripes
Alternate Home: Black
Alternate Home: City Connect
Primary Road: Updated Gray
Alternate Road: Blue Pullovers
Along with the team’s roster of 5 uniforms, we can also expect the Mets to be wearing a 6th uniform, which will commemorate the 2025 Little League Classic. The Mets will be playing the Seattle Mariners on Sunday, August 17th in Williamsport, PA at historic Bowman Field.
The Mets played in the 2018 Little League Classic, defeating the Phillies 8-2. New York wore neon colored alternates that featured player nicknames. My personal favorite was Seth Lugo’s Quarterrican jersey, which paid tribute to family ties to Puerto Rico.

On top of the regular season jersey rotation and the Little League Classic jersey, it was announced that players will once again wear their primary home and away jerseys during the 2025 MLB All-Star Game. I’m sure these jerseys will include some sort of commemorative patch that designates them as All-Star jerseys.
If you’re keeping count, then you realize there are SEVEN jersey designs to choose from when purchasing your brand new Juan Soto jersey this year. That’s a lot of Mets Laundry to sort through.
